Here is my portrait of Josephine Baker for Light Grey Art Lab’s upcoming exhibition, GIRLS: Fact + Fiction.

Josephine Baker was a French dancer, singer, and actress. Born in St. Louis Missouri, she became a citizen of France in 1937 and eventually became an international musical and political icon.  She is also known as the “Bronze Venus”, the “Black Pearl”, and the “Créole Goddess”.
